The data presented here are derived from an application of the x-vario version presented and discussed in this paper to the Bielefeld Lexical Database as of August 1999. The program ran on a Sun SPARCstation Ultra 1 140, 128 RAM, under Solaris 7. Here are the average runtime data for x-vario:

The Bielefeld Lexical Database contained 70911 canonical phonological representations of 70911 word forms, which were used as the input strings. On average, 4.35 speech variants per input string were generated.
