The web hypertext based HyprLex concept was developed in 1994/1995, originally to permit the joint use of consistent platform-independent common lexicographic databases within a distributed project management framework in the VERBMOBIL project. The specification language for HyprLex documents is hypr, a DATR application for specifying generic document types in an inheritance hierarchy and for generating HTML interfaces from these specifications. The following HyprLex examples represent a range of lexicographic structures, partly manually and partly automatically generated.
