Wüster's book Einführung in die allgemeine Terminologielehre und terminologische Lexikographie results from Wüsters lectures at the Institut für Sprachwissenschaft der Universität Wien in 1972 - 74. It is intended to give an overview to terminological work and lexicography. As an engineer by education he worked on a number of technical terms form technics thinking of normative ways of naming items. The descriptive aspect is not neglected but is of minor importance. He was one of the pioneers of scientific research in the field of terminology and was one of the founders of Infoterm, the International Information Centre for Terminology located in Vienna/Austria.
