In general, corporate terminologies of institutions, in particular research labs in industry and academia, will need to be taken into account; the questions involved here are not purely form and meaning oriented: terminologies are part of a corporate identity and involve a particular view of the concrete world of work.
In a multilingual context, national norms will, of course, also require consideration.
