Previous terminology work for the Handbook

In the HSRSLS, the contribution to Terminology work for Spoken Language systems was extensive, but restricted to the provision of the following semasiologically oriented (word form oriented) information facilities for the Handbook of Standards and Resources for Spoken Language Systems[Dafydd Gibbon(1997)]:

  1. Glossary
  2. List of Abbreviations
  3. Index of Terms

In addition, a lengthy list of technical terms was collated from other sources, which did not, however, turn out to be efficiently usable.

The onomasiological (meaning-oriented) work for the Handbook of Standards and Resources for Spoken Language Systems was exclusively concentrated on the Handbook chapter and section structure, which is the starting point for the subject field taxonomy sub-structure within the EAGLET macromodel.

These terminological resources are planned for re-use and extension in EAGLES Phase II in the context of the EAGLET approach.
