Adjectives

There are many kinds of adjectives, and terminology is not always consistent.

Using information available in grammars, on the web, etc., do the following:

1. Define predicative adjective, attributive adjective, with examples.
2. Outline the morphological properties of adjectives in English (e.g. comparison), with examples of different sentence contexts in which they occur.
3. Check this useful page on German adjectives by Karin Naumann, Tübingen, and translate the examples into English.
4. Make informal semantic profiles and Kilgarriff-style word sketches of the meanings of a represententative selection of the examples of adjectives discussed in the previous three points.
