Previous: Pitch pattern formalised as
Diagnostic (glass box) evaluation:
Test the synthesiser by generating digit sequences with it, and
- Try to discover the principles on which the prosodic patterning
of the output is based
- Listen for voice quality - are all the digits the same in this respect?
- Listen for pitch height - is the pitch height of digits appropriate for their position in the sequence?
- Listen for pitch patterns - are the rise-fall and fall patterns adequately produced?
- Which digits can be improved, and in what ways?
- How can the rhythm and tempo be improved?
What are the weaknesses of the system with respect to the specifications?
Performance (black box) evaluation:
Evaluate the synthesiser with respect to the following criteria:
|
Grade: | Poor | Weak | Okay | Good
| Great |
| Comprehensibility: | | | | | |

Naturalness: | | | | | |
