Typology of hyperlexica

With the advent of computers, lexicology (the scientific study of lexical information) and lexicography (the principles and techniques of lexicon construction) have been converging.

We can start with a distinction between

  1. latent hyperstructures
  2. manifest hyperstructures
in texts.

On this basis,

A hyperlexicon is then defined as a hypertext based on a latent or manifest lexical hyperstructure.
