Unit 2: Phonemic and morphemic models

Check any introduction to linguistics, and formulate lists with:

Phonology:

  1. all English/German/... syllable onsets of three phonemes.
  2. all English/German/... syllable onsets of two phonemes.
  3. all English/German/... syllable onsets of one phoneme.

Morphology:

  1. Swahili morphemes in linguistics workbook examples.
  2. English nominal and verbal inflectional morphemes.

Then for each of these, draw a finite state transition network, preferably with vector graphics software, such as xfig under UNIX, which will accept the sequences.

Construct a LaTeXdocument summarising the results.

Check Julie Carson-Berndsen's page on phonotactics.
