Up: Unit 016.10.97: Welcome
Previous: Timetable (Revised - Gibbon)
- Goal:
- Communicate information clearly to your listeners so they (and you!) will understand it easily.
- Preparation:
- Read the material thoroughly; discuss with your group; consult the lecturer.
Structure the presentation clearly: Introduction with overview; present argument and discussion clearly; use examples, questions, diagrammes, tables, summary lists; in conclusion, outline problems, what you have achieved, what is still open.
- Presentation:
- Use overhead slides, handouts, tape recorders where appropriate, blackboard overviews.
Time the presentation for a 15 minute talk.
Address the listeners in the back row (not the projector or the lecturer).
Send the paper version (4 to 6 pages) to the lecturer by email in Word, WordPerfect,
, HTML, etc. format.
- Problems:
-
If you are prevented from holding the report by illness or accident, please let the lecturer know as soon as possible - by email or phone. A `no show' is a serious breach of confidence.
