Goal
The goal of this course is to provide participants with the basic computer literacy skills which they will require for their studies and later professional activities, from a systematic text linguistic point of view.

Work style
This is a practical class with theoretical text linguistic components; students are expected to develp an ability to work with language based media on their own initiative.

Participation and Qualification
All participants are expected to take part actively in the preparatory and summary exercises and in the project phase at the end of term; proof of active particpation is constituted by written results. Details of examinations will be provided later; written or oral examinations will be based on both the practical and the theoretical work done in class, yielding a total of 3 credit points:

  1. Credit point 1: Participation in class.
  2. Credit point 2: Powerpoint presentation on a topic of your choice, using techniques introduced in the first half of the term.
  3. Credit point 3: End of term test on the principles underlying the presentation.

Further information will be included as it become available.
