Planning

Class meetings:

The basic idea is to structure classes with an introductory overview by one of the lecturers, followed by group work and or presentations by participants, and finishing with a summary and discussion.

Everyone is expected to participate actively, i.e. to contribute to group work and to the presentations (which can also be group presentations with maximally 3 people involved). The presentations are - in addition to contributing to the class itself - intended as training in short, well-structured oral reporting, and should use handouts and/or overhead slides and/or PowerPoint etc., as well as the blackboard. After the presentation, in addition to discussion of the content, there will also be discussion of the quality of the presentation.

The presentations should also exist in electronic form, so they can be integrated into the class materials on the web.

Term papers:

The term papers may be based on the oral presentations or group work in class, and will be supervised by one of the lecturers (in some cases by both, depending on topic/method).
