14.05.1998: 4 Document level analysis (syntax)

It is sometimes hard to distinguish between presentation level structures and document level structures.

The distinction is not clear in many markup languages and word processing systems, though conceptually a distinction can be made.

The main differences between presentation and document levels will be used to prepare the way for discussion of document level structure itself.
