Hypertext presentation and layout

The layout mapping for a hypertext presentation is the analogy to typesetting in the context of overt hypertexts.

The job of performing the layout mapping is assigned to the browser. In HTML, a wide range of devices which not only define document structure are included, but allow control of presentation by the browser.

The last group, region-defining elements, are generally very closely related to well-defined text objects at the document structure level.
