Participation:
A condition of participation is that all participants will produce either oral or written reports, or both.
The written reports will be submitted as structured documents
in WORD *.doc format for conversion into WWW hypertexts.
Note: A structured document is one which uses the available styles and text objects such as headings, lists, tables, dot lists and enumerations (not `text hacking' with tabs, highlights, font sizes, and special characters to creat lookalikes of these text objects).
Qualification:
Term papers must fulfil the following criteria:
- Structure of paper:
- Introduction: brief description of problem, methods, data, overview over presentation of paper
- State of the art: critical survey of relevant literature
- Method: description of scenario, recording, characterisation
- Linguistic characterisation: construction of lexicon, description of main points of grammar, semantics, speech acts, turn structure.
- Strategy: systematic account of exchange patterns, action schemata etc.
- Conclusion: brief summary, statement of results, open issues, applications
- Appendices:
- Lexicon: list of all words in the text, with definitions and description of special features of vocabulary
