Next: Lexicography projects
Up: Dafydd GibbonLexicography Summer
Previous: Summer semester timetable
We will initially be concerned with a distinction between three ways of
looking at dictionaries:
- lexicography,
- lexicology,
- lexicon theory.
Tasks:
- Search the web for definitions of "lexicography", "lexicology", "lexicon theory".
- Find as many substantively different definitions of "lexicon" as possible.
- Make a list of dictionaries on the web.
- Classify these dictionaries in terms of their functions, their content, and their structure.
The results should be noted in a properly formatted text document (either MS-Word or StarOffice), following the following document model:
|
Document object | Style properties |
| Title | TITLE |
| Author | SUBTITLE |
| Section heading | HEADING1 |
| Text | TEXTBODY |
| Section heading | HEADING2 |
| Text | TEXTBODY |
| ... | ... |
