The main aims of this class is to enable students to understand the principles
on which the pronunciation of English consonants, vowels and speech melody
is based, and to apply these principles to the construction of multimedia
documents.
A tutorial is provided in order to assist participants with exercises,
test preparation, study techniques, coordination of contacts via email, etc.
After successful completion of this class, students will know
- the structure of the sound system of English,
- the details of the pronunciation of English speech sounds,
- how speech sounds are produced,
- how speech sounds are perceived,
- how speech sounds are transmitted through different media,
