- Find the Praat application on your computer.
- Select a short sound file in WAV format, and put it into your Audio folder.
- Start Praat, and note the two windows: the left-hand one is for "Praat objects" and the methods which can be applied to them; the right-hand one is just for saving graphics for use in other documents, not for working with.
- Load (read) the sound file into Praat; it is now a "Praat object", listed in the object list.
- Note the "Praat methods" for this object, listed on the right of the object list.
- Examine the sound object with the "Edit" method.
- Copy a graphical version of the picture with the "Draw / Paint" method.
- Save the picture as a WMF graphics file.
- Close Praat.
- Open MS-Word, and create a new document.
- Using the "Insert / Graphics" menu, load your picture into the Word document.
- Write two paragraphs describing how you did all this - don't just copy thie web page...
